                                                                                                                                                               Water pressure at campgrounds can be extremely high and cause damage your RV plumbing system. Always
                                                                                                                                                               use a water pressure regulator when you connect to the campground water supply. Always connect the water
                                                                                                                                                               pressure regulator directly to the campground water source, this way you regulate the water pressure where
                                                                                                                                                                it originates. I have seen instances where people connect the regulator to the city water inlet on the RV and
                                                                                                                                                               the pressure causes the hose to swell up and rupture. It’s also a good idea to turn the water supply off if you’re
                                                                                                                                                                              going to be away from the campground for extended periods of time.

                                                                                                                                                               There are no guarantees that any water is completely safe for us to drink, but if we take certain precautions we can
                                                                                                                                                              keep our RV water system safe to use. So where do we start? Always use a non-toxic, white RV drinking hose for your
                                                                                                                                                               potable water connection at the campground. Hoses not labeled safe for drinking can contribute to lead and other
                                                                                                                                                               dangerous chemicals getting in the water.  It is a good idea to keep a 10-foot and 25-foot drinking water hose in the
                                                                                                                                                               RV so you can always reach the campground water supply, and these hoses should only be used for drinking water.

                                                                                                                                                               Sanitizing the RV water system is an easy job. Just add ¼ cup of regular household bleach for every 15 gallons
                                                                                                                                                               of water your fresh water tank holds to a gallon of water and pour it into the fresh water tank. Next, fill the fresh
                                                                                                                                                              water tank with potable water and run it through all faucets until you smell bleach. Let it sit for 12 hours and then
                                                                                                                                                                drain, and refill with potable water. Run the water through all faucets until you don’t smell anymore bleach.

                                                                                                                                                                One of the easiest and most rewarding upgrades you can make to the RV water system is to replace the existing
                                                                                                                                                                   hand-held shower head with a shower head that improves water pressure and offers different settings.
