SECTION 3 • AWNINGS
From RV Expert Mark Polk of RV Education 101: www.rvonlinetraining.com
Tip #1
wnings are a great feature to have on your RV. There are over the door awnings, window
awnings and patio awnings, and each type offers useful features and benefits.
Tip #2
Awning tie downs help protect your patio awning. A strong gust of wind can damage your
RV awning very quickly and it can be expensive to repair. Camping Tip: Never leave your RV
awning out for any period of time when you are away from the campsite, or at night while
you are sleeping.
Tip #3
One of my favorite accessories for the patio awning is a sun blocker. They are easy to install
and block over 80% of the sunlight, keeping you cool in your outdoor living space.
Tip #4
When cleaning your awning use a commercial RV awning cleaner. Spray the cleaner
thoroughly on the awning fabric, roll it up and let it sit for several minutes. This helps
distribute the cleaner over the entire surface of the awning fabric and allows the cleaner
some time to work. Open the awning and thoroughly rinse both sides of the fabric.
