                                                                           Tip #1
How much LP gas your RV gas cylinders or tank holds can be confusing. People
often refer to it in gallons and/or pounds. One gallon of LP gas weighs 4.26 pounds.

All LP gas cylinders and tanks are only filled to 80 % of their capacity to allow for
expansion when the temperature around the container rises. If you want to monitor
how much LP gas is in the cylinders consider purchasing a propane gas gauge.

                                                                           Tip #2
LP gas leak detectors are audible alarms that warn you of a potential LP gas leak.
They are located close to the floor level of the RV because LP gas is heavier than air
                                                                                                                   LP GAS • SECTION 6
and will settle towards the floor.
                                                                           Tip #3

When you change a gas cylinder there is a possibility air will get in the gas lines. A
good habit to get into is to light the range burners after you change a cylinder. This will
help evacuate any air from the system making it easier to light the other appliances.

                                                                           Tip #4

Carbon monoxide is odorless, tasteless and deadly. If your RV does not have a
carbon monoxide detector purchase and install one designed for use in RVs.
                                                                             ...

Understanding your RV safety equipment, and knowing how to use it gives you
peace of mind when you head out on your next RV trip
