Tip #1
Always check and add air to the tires when they are cold, before traveling. When tires
get hot the air expands and you get a higher-pressure reading. If you let some air out
they will be under inflated when they are cold. When you check tire inflation always use
a quality tire inflation gauge. If you have dual wheels get a gauge with a double angled
foot, and make sure the pressure rating of the gauge is higher than the amount of air the
tires are inflated to. WHEELS & BRAKES • SECTION 21
Tip #2
Just like the axles, your tires and wheels have load ratings too. The maximum ratings are
molded into the sidewall of the tires. Keep in mind these are maximum ratings.

Tip #3
The best way to monitor the tire pressure in your RV and/or tow vehicle is with a tire
pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It gives you some piece of mind when you can
monitor tire pressure, and receive warnings if there are any problems.
